Found during a Central Market shopping excursion this weekend....harissa. Used in North African cuisine, this variety is made with beets, carrots, chili (it's a hot sauce), caraway and coriander and has the consistency of tomato paste.
We first tasted this at the funky and fabulous Flip Happy Crepes in Austin (a post coming soon).
Try it! We're marinating some chicken breast in it, headed for the grill.
